Our bodies are living, breathing archives, our skin is the paper we write on. The project Scars of Turmoil, explores how our bodies are often sites of turmoil, and how our scars are proof and memory of these instances of turmoil. Scars can be visual reminders of emotions and pain, healing, loss, and memories associated with the initial wound. Often the scars that take the longest to heal are not physical or even visible, but are emotional scars. These series attempt to make visible some of the forgotten feelings associated with scars.
